Twitter & Facebook

twitter_48facebook_48Along with adding some custom branding features we’ve also provided a plug-in that lets you automatically post tweets or updates to both Twitter & Facebook. Basically this feature makes it easy to share construction progress photo updates on public projects with others through the two most popular social networks. Now you can post updates about your project using these social networks and before you know it  a whole bunch of people will be getting a quick update on the construction of your project.

There are two important thing to remember. #1 This feature is only turned on if your project has been made available to the public. This means that private projects, that require users to log-in to view their photos, will not be able to see the Twitter or Facebook sharing feature. #2 You need to have an account with Twitter or Facebook to use this feature.

The Denver Union Station project is an example of a public project that can be shared publicly. Also, below are some screen shots of the difference between a public and private project when it comes to sharing with Twitter & Facebook.

Custom Branding

CustomBrandingYour construction progress photos never looked so good… We’re very excited to announce that projects can now take advantage of our custom branding feature. This feature allows projects to display their own logo and company colors on all their JobSiteVisitor.com’s project pages. Doing this makes users feel like they haven’t left your website and also allows you to promote your company next to the projects images you’re sharing with others. We also provide links back to your site from your company logo.

The process is simple, just send us your logo and select two different colors for your website and we’ll take care of the rest. When selecting your colors if you don’t know the six digit Hex color number you might want to visit:  Color Combos

Form more information on the service or to get it done on a current or upcoming project please contact Brian Sweeney at brian@jobsitevisitor.com.

New Branding

Home_PageYou may have noticed some big changes to JobSiteVisitor.com and if you haven’t please go to our home page and check out our new design we released yesterday, 3/22/2010. Also check out our Sample Project to get a better idea of how we help construction projects manage their progress photos. If you’re not familiar with JSV we’re basically a photo hosting website designed for the construction industry. Over the past 3 months our team has been re-designing, re-working, and rebuilding our platform. Anyone who’s been through this process understands how much time and effort goes into this work. So at this time I’d like to thank a few people who have been instrumental in the process:

- Mike Scholl, our CTO, who did a great job of taking a bunch of wire-frames and screen shots and making everything work.

- Anthony Dimitre, our Designer, who was great to work with and did an outstanding job of improving our user experience.

- And also a big thanks to my wife Megan who has supported me through the ups and downs of building a start-up.

The team here at JobSiteVisitor is very excited about the future. More information on our new features will be coming out soon. Stay updated on our progress by subscribing to our newsletter or just follow us on Twitter. Now back to work…

Get FLASH for free at:  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

- Log into your project as an Administrator
- Go to the Administration Page
- Click on “Photo Uploader – Batch”
- Select “Browse”
- Find the pictures you want to upload on your machine
- Using the “Ctrl” and “Shift” keys select the photos to upload
- Click “Open”
- Files will automatically begin to upload
- Note: When the page says “Processing Images – Please Wait…” just let the program run
- When all the uploads have completed you will be dumped into the “Add Photo Description” Page
