RSS Feeds
This is an icon for a “Really Simple Syndication Feed” otherwise know as an RSS Feed. This icon is typically found on Blog Websites where new content is frequently published. RSS Feeds are automatic publishers that deliver updates to your email address or “Feed Reader”. RSS Feeds help people reduce the amount of time and effort needed to regularly check websites for updates. So if you’re on a website that you like and see this icon, click on it and subscribe to the RSS email Feed or if you’re feeling lucky subscribe using an RSS Feed Reader. This will keep you updated when new information is added to your favorite websites.
What’s a Feed Reader?
A Feed Reader is like a personal magazine that contains only articles and information that you select. There are a many different Feed Readers out there, here’s a link to the Top 10 Windows RSS Feed Readers out on the market today. For a long time I received RSS Feeds through my email. As I subscribed to more and more RSS Feeds I was receiving too many emails so I signed up for a Google Feed Reader that allows me to organize and manage all my RSS Feeds in one location. You’ll also notice that Feed Readers also provide great tools to manage and organize the Feed Content.

Hope this helps explain a little about that Little Orange Icon you see all around websites.
