CUNVC 2010

sidebarlogoJobSiteVisitor.com takes 2nd place at CUNVC:

The University of Colorado and a group of local entreprenuers have been connecting students with start-ups through programs like Silicon Flatirons, CUNVC, and StartUp2Student. At the end of 2009 JobSiteVisitor decided to compete in an interdisciplinary business plan competition called the CU New Venture Challenge. Basically the event gives students and faculty from CU a hands-on-approach to develop their own start-up. Participants have the opportunity to attend workshops, get feed back from industry experts, and work with a team of mentors during the competition. At the end companies submit their business plans and finalists are selected to pitch their start-up to a panel of judges. One of the great thing about the CUNVC is that they allow local start-ups, like JobSiteVisitor, to enter the competition if they have a students or faculty member on their team. We were fortunate to have the following 2 students join our team for the competition.

– Carson Saporta:  2nd Year Law Student
– Sean Hall:  3rd Year Civil Engineering Student

The CUNVC was great because it provided us with:

1. Direct contact with great mentors in the area who really wanted to help.
2. Seven (7) well structured workshops put on by industry experts.
3. Structured environment to develop and improve our Business Plan and Investment Pitch.

The event was great, we had a wonderful time working with our students, mentors, and advisers. We also would like to thank Lindsay Brust, Brad Bernthall, and the rest of the CUNVC team for putting on such a well organized event. Nice work!

Stay tuned to JobSiteVisitor.com as we use this momentum to roll out our new design that we pitched at CUNVC.
